Abstract: In this work-in-progress report we present the general outline of aresearch project which aims at providing proxy support for networkedcomputer games. The problems of both client-server and fullyreplicated architectures are discussed and we reason that employingproxy technology, which has been successfully used for othernetworked applications, is advantageous for this class ofapplications as well. In particular we describe how a proxy systemfor networked computer games can help with providing congestioncontrol, achieving robustness, minimizing the impact of networkdelay and providing fairness.
