Abstract: Currently, several research groups seek to developappropriate tools and methodologies for real-worldexperiments on mobile ad-hoc networks. We argue thatthis should be done as a community effort rather thanas independent projects. Furthermore we present ourview on the functionality a good testbed should pro-vide based on reports from other research groups aswell as on our own experiences. This paper aims atstimulating a discussion, it is not meant to be a com-prehensive specification of requirements or a detailedworkplan.
